1. What is Flying with a hidden disability?

VMA was founded in 2016 by Kees Hoekstra. In collaboration with Schiphol, KLM and Axxicom, various campaigns have been set up to make flying with fewer incentives.

 

​2. What is DPNA assistance?

With DPNA assistance you will have an attendant who will take you to the gate, so you avoid incentives at customs, passport control and security. At DPNA, the crew of the aircraft is also aware.

 

​3. How to arrange DPNA assistance

DPNA must be arranged with the airline at least 48 hours in advance. They make a note in the booking and pass it on to the assistance desk at the airport.

 

​4. Does DPNA apply for return travel?

Yes DPNA is an international IATA code that is used worldwide. If you are flying back with a different company, please request separately. You can also ask your travel agent to arrange it for you.

 

​5. Do I have to pay for DPNA?

No, this is a free service

6. Do I have to prove a disability?

No, you may not be asked for evidence, so a diagnosis is not necessary to provide.

 

7. How does it work at the airport?

After check-in and dropping off your suitcase, report to the assistance desk. At Schiphol, these counters can be found in every room at the end of the check-in counters. You can also report to one of the Assistance pillars. These are the entrances and, among other things, at P1

 

8. What is Hidden Disabilities Sunflower?

HDS is an originally English organization that is committed to helping everyone with a hidden disability. By means of a Sunflower lanyard you discreetly indicate that you may need a little more time, help or understanding.

 

9. Where is Sunflower recognized?

11. What is the difference between DPNA and Sunflower

DPNA guarantees you guidance, Sunflower is for recognition and understanding.
